Legalisation

Legalisation is the process whereby the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office affixes a certificate, known as an Apostille, to a document that has been notarised.

The standard legalisation process is provided by the Legalisation Department at Milton Keynes. Documents may be sent directly to the FCDO, but I generally use agents to ensure security and speed, and who in presenting the documents can deal with any queries raised by the FCDO.

Their fees are £30.00 per document. If desired, documents can be returned direct to the client by guaranteed next day delivery, or sent abroad by courier. FCDO fees are £30.00 per document or £75.00 by premium (next day) service.
